The aim of this project was to enable Europe to take the lead in the creation and exploitation of the next generation of eLearning system. The goal was to overcome the limitations of the generation of eLearning systems at that time by accelerating the adoption, implementation, use and further development of open standards that (1) supported multiple as well as single learners and (2) supported a wide range of present, as well as future, pedagogical models
