The Foundations for Futures Europe project is funded through the Europe for Citizens Programme and this opening symposium will be followed by a number of individual partner events across Europe culminating with a final European Conference in Maynooth in November 2022.
The aim of this project is to develop a network of Higher Education and Civil Society (NGOs) Partners to engage citizens and communities in debates and discussion groups around the future direction of the European project. The expected final outcomes for this 2 year project include the establishment of an online platform for citizen engagement and solidarity, a co- created resource pack for citizen participation and the development of an open access journal for community engaged research.
The event will be opened by MU President Professor Eeva Leinonen and will feature keynote addresses from academic and community experts including partners from Ireland, Sweden, Hungary, Greece and Serbia.
