During 2006-2007 EUCEN worked on ‘BeFlex – Benchmarking Flexibility in the Bologna reforms’, a project funded by the European Commission. EUCEN mapped the development of ULLL and the relationship between ULLL and the Bologna reforms. Our aim was to produce a report and recommendations to the meeting of the Bologna Follow-up Group of representatives from the Member States in London in May 2007. This conference provided practitioners and managers in ULLL the opportunity to consider, verify and edit the draft results and recommendations of the project so that the report sent to the Bologna meeting in London had the support and endorsement of the experts in the field.
THE WORKING GROUPS
The conference enabled participants to consider sections of the draft report in groups, providing significant time for discussion of the draft findings and recommendations. Each group was presented with a section of the report for discussion. The groups were organised around the following themes:
- Indicators and benchmarks for ULLL
- Impact of the Bologna Process and models of management for ULLL
- Quality in ULLL and the Bologna process
- BMD – ECTS – LLL
- Recognition of non-formal and informal learning – Learning Outcomes – Diploma supplement
- Bologna process and University/Enterprise collaboration
